A fresh start...

Well, I can't say this is the first time I have tried to start "blogging," I've done it in the past but my habits consisted of once a year posts, no pictures, and not sharing my blog with anyone but myself :).  So here's to a fresh start in the blogging world! I think blogs are awesome because it's somewhat like a journal.  I am really bad a keeping a journal mainly because it requires a pen and paper; two things Sammie would love to get her hands on :).  So this will be like my modern day journal (just a fair warning if you do choose to read).  Anyway just a quick intro... We currently live in Seaside (Monterey) CA, Micah is learning French at DLI (Defense Language Institute), for the Army. Monterey is pretty much my ideal spot...it's always dark foggy and never gets hotter than 70 degrees. I know I must sound crazy but its who I am... :).   Micah is doing awesome at French! He certainly has a talent for learning languages.  He's probably one of the smartest people I know. He will be learning his language until early next year, then we plan to move back to Cedar City while he finishes college.  As for me...I like being an army wife.  I have a deep respect for those who choose to serve our country.  I love being surrounded by other spouses and loved ones who share that same respect.  I really miss my family back in Utah, but I am so thankful that we are where we are.  Micah and I have been close to "home" throughout our whole marriage and have had the luxury of relying on our family members to help us with random things.  Now we basically have each other and have had to learn to solely rely on each other for essentially everything.  I believe this move has truly strengthened our marriage and our family.

Sammie is growing like a weed! She is 18 months and is such a special little lady.  I love her so much and am so glad we get to hang out all day.  I wish I could express how awesome it is to be a mommy! I really love it so much.  Sammie has definitely put many things in my life into perspective.  There was a time when I was scared to death, and sad at the prospect of letting go of things in order to be a mom but now I am so thankful that I have a special little someone who gives me random kisses, licks me, and says, "mommy I love you!" I wouldn't trade being a mother and wife for anything in this world! Currently Sammie has some pretty interesting habits which include: as I mentioned above; licking.  She licks tables, my face, Micah's knees, our hands, chairs, and even strangers.  Needless to say she is in the stage of oratory exploration, and I hope it passes soon :).  Don't let her weird licking fool you, however, she is extremely smart. She counts in English and French  (with daddy's help), and knows a few of her colors.  She talks like crazy! She loves to pretend to talk to Pop Pop on the phone.  She also loves to read and play at the park.  We spend a lot of the day reading books over and over again.  She loves to go on walks with her friend Brooklyn as well.  These two are so cute together, they share their treats (most of the time), and even hold hands from their strollers.  There are so many awesome people we have been able to meet and make friends with out here!

Our baby boy will be here so soon and we are extremely excited to meet him.  It's definitely been a different pregnancy this time when compared to my first time!  I feel pretty good, just super tired (but who wouldn't with Sammie)! My due date is Nov 2nd so hopefully he arrives around that time, but not until my mom gets here of course :)!

Anyway that's just a quick intro to our little Family! I promise I will post again soon (as in not next year)!
